Minister of Health, Greece
I was born in Athens on 21 May 1977, I am an Orthodox Christian, married to Eleni Papatheologou Plevris and I have two children, Niki and Konstantinos. I am a resident of Athens, Greece.
I fulfilled my term as a Marine Sergeant and I have also been a Marine and Commando Trainer.
I am a Lawyer with a graduate degree from the Law School of the University of Athens and hold a postgraduate degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany with a scholarship (2002) on “Patient consent according to Greek and German criminal law”. In 2006 I received my doctorate from the Law School of the University of Athens, Greece with a dissertation on “Criminal Liability in Medical Practice. Research and Experimentation with humans as the object”
From 2019 until today, I am a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for district A’ Athens with New Democracy party and on August 31,2021 I was sworn in as Minister of Health.
As Member of Parliament I participated in the Special Parliamentary Committees to conduct a preliminary examination on the “Criminal Liability of Ministers”, Mr N. Pappas and Mr D. Papagelopoulos, in the Standing Committee on Educational Affairs and in the Special Standing Committee on Parliamentary Ethics and Social Security.
I also participated in the Standing Committee on Social Affairs and the Special Standing Committee for the Monitoring of the Social Security System.
In 2018 I founded the urban non-profit company under the name “Surveillance of Infections in Health – Civil Non-Profit Company” (EPI.LOI.S.Y).
