Chief Financial Officer, CENERGY HOLDINGS
Alexandros Benos is the Chief Financial Officer of Cenergy Holdings, the energy arm of Viohalco, and a member of Viohalco’s Executive Committee, responsible for risk management and international business.
Prior to joining Viohalco, Mr. Benos worked for 17 years at the National Bank of Greece, as the Director of Risk Control and Structure and later as Chief Risk Officer (CRO), responsible for the management of all risk types and contributing to the achievement of an optimal result for NBG Group.
Mr. Benos started his career as a Professor at the HEC School of Management in Paris and MSc Director of the International Finance Program and later joined the University of Piraeus as Assistant Professor of Finance. He was Visiting Professor at the Universities of Geneva and Beirut and the ALBA Graduate Business School. He has published numerous articles on risk management, international markets and game theory in refereed journals, edited volumes and the financial press.
Mr. Benos has a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Cambridge University, a Diploma Degree from the University of Athens and holds a PhD in Finance from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He speaks English, French, Italian and Turkish.
